In this series, Mandy playfully jumps between the contrasting styles of realism and expressionism, satisfying her desire to indulge in both while at times merging the two using landscapes as subject matter. Mandy draws inspiration from locations such as Petone Beach and the Red Rocks of Wellington. She expresses her changing circumstances through emotive composition decisions, using strong, contrasting colours to bring her worlds to life.
